I always watched out for your mom when I rounded the corner from Erindale to Baseline. It’s hard to find the words to convey something to capture Chandra. She loved her family, she was caring and sweet and enjoyed life. She has this adventurous, strong spirit and a lot of wisdom. My condolences to all of her family and friends. She is missed.

I wanted to extend my deepest condolences to the Doobay family. I first met Chandra in December 2006, when I traveled from Washington, DC, to Ottawa to visit my dear friends Raj and Kathlean, whom I had met while living in London, UK. My husband John (passed in 2019) stayed at the Doobsys home many years ago when he was in Ottawa on a business trip. The memory that has stayed with me all these years is him telling me how enthusiastically Chandrowtee took him around her beloved garden and showed him the various plants. I hope they are both talking about gardening 'up there' now .

My heartfelt condolences to the Doobay family. I heard so much about mum from Raj when he lived in London. She was an incredible lady who had truly lived life. She embraced me as if I were a part of the family when I visited Raj and Kathleen in Ottawa years ago and memories of her warmth remain in my heart. May her atma attain Moksh.

I will always remember eating her curry chicken (ok...for her and only her I will say chicken curry) and roti on Baseline Rd. She fed the neighbourhood and never seemed phased by the cast of characters that showed up at her door. She and I also shared my first (and only) (illegal) crab catching adventure while visiting Raj and Kathlean in Vancouver. There is nothing like a freshly caught illicit curry crab...I mean crab curry...dinner. Your sense of humour lives on in your son Raj . Rest in peace Mrs. Doobay. You will be dearly missed.
