Dear Nancy, Zoe and all of Derek's extended family. Jane and I were very saddened to hear of Derek's passing and offer our most sincere condolences. Derek was a good friend and neighbour since the early 2000, and being our next door neighbour we had a special connection. He often dropped by to say hello and chat, share information, offer help and tell stories about the early days when his parents had their cottage on White Lake. He was an important part of the Darling White Lake community. We will remember Derek.. Rest in Peace. Jane and Larry Paquette,

Derek and I were good friends throughout high school and afterwards . He was a fun/funny, trusted, loyal, and dear friend, with a very quirky sense of humour. And how he loved his dog, Dude Winston - who, being a Jack Russell, almost drove him out of his mind! There are so many great stories I can recall in connection with Derek they would take too long to record. Suffice to say that you will never be forgotten, Derek - A friend forever!❤️ Very missed by family and friends.
