Peter and I knew Ruth for many years through Carleton Memorial and her work through Debra Dynes Community House. We admired her commitment, her knowledge and sense of humour. Our condolences. She will be missed.

Offering deepest sympathies to Robie, Judy, the Loomer families, and Ruth's many beloved friends at Carleton Memorial United Church. How fortunate we all are to have experienced Ruth's many gifts and talents. I was always grateful to spend time with her when I was the music director at her church, and enjoyed our chats together. She encouraged me always, and her kindness touched me in so many ways. How we will miss her, but I'm happy she's now reunited with her beloved Kit and soaring with the angels. Hugs.

I want to extend my sympathy to Ruth’s family. My wife Beverly used to babysit in the basement, the children of the people having the “English as a second language courses” that Ruth was teaching. That was many years ago. I also remember the couples club with Ruth and Kit. Many happy memories of all her accomplishments! I hope to see you on Saturday at CMUC. All the best. Fraser Cumming

I knew Ruth and her husband Kit through the Ploughshares group in Ottawa, which she led for a time. We used to hold planning meetings in her home. She was a wonderful woman and I am privileged to have known her. Rest in peace.

I have fond memories of my Aunt Ruth, of her fine intelligence, sharp wit, and great sense of humor. Her kindness and charity were exemplified with the life she lived.

I had the pleasure of meeting Ruth on a few occasions but knew her mainly through many a rye story recounted by her loving son Robie. May she Rest In Peace. My deepest condolences to Robie, Judy and Robie’s sister and remaining brother as well as the rest of the Loomer family and Ruth’s many friends.
