Richard was a good friend for many years. My Mom lives at 100 Grant Carmen Drive, Richard was her next door neighbour. When Mom would vacation to Florida in the winter, I would house sit, frequently using the pool and hot tub, and guess who would show up at 10:45pm with workout paddles to do several laps of the pool followed by hot tub conversations about a plethora of career adventures. As Richard and I got to know each other better, he would often invite myself, my son and my nephew over to his place to show off his hodge-podged puzzles, make all of us amazing milkshakes and then we would play crokinole at the dining room table. This was, of course, outside of his busy schedule driving various neighbours wherever they needed to go, in his new car(which he was not shy to tell us about). Richard was always pleasant, cheerful and happy. We shared many a story and, Richard was keen to find out more about my career as a local Firefighter(I worked at the firehall just down the street). Ever since Richard moved from Grant Carmen, I often remembered the memorable time spent with him and he has been, and still is, a blessing in my life.

I'll always remember fondly taking a road trip with Uncle Richard back to the east coast for a family get-together in Digby, Nova Scotia in 2016. Hope to see you again down the road.
We send our deepest condolences in the passing of Uncle Richard. He was truly the salt of the earth. Uncle Richard's name is written down in the Lamb's Book Of Life. Sincerely, Mark & Lucie Kaulback
