It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband and father, Barry McConnell, who passed away on April 6, 2026 at the age of 84. Barry was a devoted husband, married to his beloved wife Brenda for 60 years. He was a proud and dedicated father to his daughter Joanne (Kent Johnson).
Barry’s family was his greatest pride and joy. He will leave behind a legacy of love, strength and devotion. He will be remembered for his wisdom, humour and his great gift for storytelling. Barry enjoyed his family time with cousins, nieces and his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Barry is now reunited with his much loved and missed brother Bryan.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff at the Ottawa Civic Hospital for their care and compassion. A private graveside ceremony will be held for immediate family.
