Obituary of John Eldon Hammell

John Eldon Hammell, 78, of Ottawa, Ontario passed away suddenly on November 16, 2025 in the Civic Hospital surrounded by family.

We honour and remember a deeply loved husband, father, grandpa and friend. He was predeceased by his parents, Ed and Viola, and late sister Dianne (David). He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Peggy, his children; Chris (Katie) and Jeff, and his cherished grandchildren; Izzy and Mckenna. His warmth, kindness and steady presence will be deeply missed.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025 from 1pm – 2 pm, followed by a service at 2pm at the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, (2500 Baseline Rd, Nepean). A reception will be held following the service for friends and family who would like to join us in celebrating his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that donations be made to the MS Society of Canada.
