Obituary of Gerald Robideau

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gerald “Gerry” Ross Robideau at the age of 77. He passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, in Ottawa, Ontario.

Beloved husband of the late Karen Robideau (née Golumbia). Deeply loved father of Gregg (Allison) and Kathryn (Hamed). Cherished grandfather to Hunter, Cyrus, Leila, and Morgan.

Born on January 24, 1948, in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Gerry was the son of Peter Robideau and Evelyn Robideau (née Wilburn). Dearly loved brother of John Robideau and Russ Robideau (Helen), and predeceased by his brother Dennis Robideau. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gerry was endlessly devoted to his family first. From his youth with his brothers and cousins in the prairies, to the young family he found with Karen, Gerry always wanted to keep doors open for his loved ones. Gerry and Karen gave their kids a world of opportunities in sports, dance, and music, not to mention academics. A professional engineer known for his love of planning, his sharp mind, and his passion for sports and travel, Gerry approached life with curiosity, humour, humility, and unconditional love.

Family and friends are invited to gather for at Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa.
