Obituary of Norma Gertrude Byrne

It is with broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Norma Gertrude Byrne on December 20, 2025 at the Westwood Retirement Home at the age of 94. 

Predeceased by her husband Roderick Byrne, son James Byrne, son-in-law Sean Graham, sister Kathleen Culham and brother-in-law Ronald Lecuyer.  Survived by her sons Barry Byrne (Donna), Danny Byrne (Diana) and her daughters Wendy Byrne and  Kimberley Graham; grandchildren Jesse (Trish), Aimee, Sarah (Matt), Victoria (Kevin), Kurt (Mellissa), Cheryl, Jeffrey, Jacob, Nathan (Kayli), Colin, Jimmy; great grandchildren Kaitlin, Justin, Maddison, Christopher, Parker, Paisley and Jack; sister Patricia Lecuyer and brother Barry (Louise) Culham. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and friends. 

Special thanks to the staff and caregivers at the Westwood Retirement Home and the Ontario Health at Home. 

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 28, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Maurice Parish, 4 Perry Street, Ottawa.  Interment will follow at the Pinecrest Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Reception to follow.
