Obituary of Arnold Saunders

                                                                   September 11, 1941 - January 6, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Arnold Saunders, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

Beloved husband of Winnifred (née Smith). Loving father of Brenda (Dave), Dwight (Nicole), and the late Kevin. Cherished grandfather of Kevin (Catherine) and Kelsey (Michael). Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Richard and Dora Saunders, his son Kevin Saunders, and his siblings Joy, Richard (Louise), Russell (Doreen), Calvin (Pat), Merwin (Jo) and Shirley (Stu).

Arnold will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew his generous spirit, remarkable skills, kind heart, and infectious humour . Rest in peace, Arnold — your legacy of ingenuity, kindness, resilience, laughter, and love will live on in all of us. We love you.

The family wishes to express their deepest and most sincere gratitude, extending heartfelt thanks to the entire dedicated staff at the Perley Health Centre for their exceptional and deeply empathetic care.

A Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 in the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa. Interment and reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Muscular Dystrophy Canada Association.
