Obituary of Jacqueline Goyette

Jacqueline (Jackie) Goyette (née Champagne) passed away peacefully with family at her side on March 17, 2026 at the age of 80 years.

 

Jackie was a giving soul, always ready to help, console and support anyone in need. She had fulfilment in providing food, blankets and warm winter clothes for the Shepherds of Good Hope. Jackie enjoyed

sewing and crocheting for wedding and baby showers. including her famous diaper cake. She made numerous Highland dance costumes for her daughter and many others. She took pleasure in creating  countless cookbooks and Christmas elf ornaments for children of family and friends.

 

Jackie was born in Ottawa, the beloved daughter of the late Hector and Sarah Champagne (née Harrison). Jackie started her career as a public servant and then as an employee of Loblaws. She raised two cherished

children and incessantly provided for her family’s needs. Jackie will be remembered for her sociable and welcoming character who always enjoyed a good chat with family, friends and neighbours.

 

Jackie is survived by her loving husband of fifty years Claude, son Rob, daughter Melanie (Ryan Baker), grand-daughters Kassie and Quinn Baker, brothers Roger Champagne (late Inez), Philippe Champagne (Marlene) and sister-in-law Marie (late brother Edmond Champagne), and by many nieces, nephews and cousins she loved equally. Predeceased by her other siblings Leonard (Marylyn), Muriel Champagne, Janet Trew (John) and Patricia Meekins.

 

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Fallowfield on April 7, 2026 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception in the church hall. Visitation will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church and during the reception.

 

Inurnment will take place at a later date.

The family wants to thank the entire staff of Garden Terrace for their loving and personal care.
