Obituary of Elizabeth Claire Meyers

Our Mother, Elizabeth Claire Meyers, took her final bow and passed peacefully on Wednesday, April 8th at the age of 94.  After ninety-four years of purpose, she chose a gentle departure to join the love of her life, the late Adam Henry Meyers; ensuring her last moments were filled with peace and clarity in the presence of her four children who she loved dearly.

A woman of immense kindness and love, she spent her later years volunteering her time in Ottawa at the International Club and Royal Ottawa Palliative Care Unit.  She also spent many years developing her various artistic talents.  She leaves behind countless water colour pictures, tole painted items and greeting cards showcasing her artistic sense of beauty and grace.  

She leaves behind her children: Debbie (John), Rob (Nancy), Doug (Rona) and Lisa (Mark).  She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Sean, Jessica, Dayna (Kyle), Justin, Reid (Alex), Kyle (Becky), Erin (Giani), Jacqueline, Catherine, Chelsea (Cory), Ashley (Andrew), Branden and many more great-grandchildren.  She also leaves behind her very dear friends at Timberwalk including Gwen and Mary. 

The Family wishes to thank the Timberwalk medical team (Dr Khanna, Katia, Anna, Jo-Ann and Rodan) for looking after her and providing such warm and tender-loving care. 

She lived a life of courage and honour and left us with a final lesson in dignity.  Her spirit remains with us in every story and memory shared.
