Obituary of Barbara Joan Gates

Barbara Joan Gates (nee Campbell) passed away peacefully on Sunday the 19th of April 2026 in her 89th year. Born on the 24th of July 1937 in Ottawa to Lawrence and Kathleen.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Barbara leaves behind her husband Robert; her children Heather (Chris), Michael (Tami), Patrick (Veronica), Ann (Dominic), Sarah; her grandchildren Matthew (Shannon), Chloe (Wade), Sage, Jesse, Emma, Martin, Gabriella; her great-grandchildren Georgia, William, Desmond; her brother Lorne Campbell (Evelyn); her sisters in law Sharon Villeneuve (Don), BettyAnn Cotter (John), and nieces and nephews. 

Predeceased by her sister Ann McEvoy (Joe), brother Leonard (Melda) and sister in laws Kitty Renaud(Ron), Marion Labonte (Joe) and Delores Gillespie (Bob). 

A Private Graveside Service will take place on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Pinecrest Cemetery. A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life gathering will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Barbara can be made to St. Basil's Church "Under One Roof" Campaign or any cause of your choice.
