Obituary of Vilma Gabriella Bergnach Awad

It is with immense sorrow and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Vilma Gabriella Bergnach on May 11, 2026. Surrounded by her loving family, Vilma left this world peacefully after a hard-fought battle with lung cancer. Though she left us far too soon, she leaves behind a life of love and happiness that will be remembered by those who knew her.

Vilma was the loving wife and soulmate of Andre Awad. Together, they built a life full of love, joy, and cherished memories alongside their three sons, Matthew, Daniel, and Anthony. She was a devoted sister to Silvano and his partner, Tina, with whom she shared a bond of deep love and care that will never fade. She will be dearly missed by her aunts, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Umberto and Romilda, who now welcome her with open arms. Vilma is also reunited in spirit with other cherished family members who have gone before her.

As a mother, Vilma's heart overflowed with pride and unconditional love for her greatest gifts: her children. Her caring nature, warm spirit, and gentle heart touched everyone around her. Vilma loved sharing stories and reminiscing about the many happy memories throughout her life, and her family and friends always cherished listening to her. Vilma will forever remain an angel watching over her dear family. Her love and spirit will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew her.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to her friends who stood by her side from the beginning of her battle to the very end, and to all those who offered support through written messages, flowers, meals, and countless acts of kindness.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. George’s Parish on Friday, June 5, at 6:00p.m., followed by a reception to honour and remember Vilma’s beautiful life and the love she shared with all of us.
