Jack Lou Hall

Obituary of Jack Lou Hall

Jack died peacefully on June 10, 2026 at the age of 95 years. He was born February 12, 1931 to Harold and Hazel Hall (née Burton) in St. Thomas, Ontario. He studied architecture at McGill University and after graduation married and moved to Ottawa where they started a family. His McGill Outdoor Club friendships were maintained throughout his entire life. Jack worked for NRC and the Department of Industry, Trade and Commence and enjoyed a lifetime interest in photography and travel that took him to many wonderful corners of the globe.  He was a longtime member of the Britannia Yacht Club and the Camera Club of Ottawa. An avid skier, gardener, lover of good food and jazz, Jack was, to the end, always up for a nice glass of wine.

Jack is remembered by his three daughters Josephine, Diana and Heather, and their mother Jennifer. He is also missed by André, Deo, the families of Mary and Tyler, Sarah and Brandon, Philip and Mikayla, Alison and Kevin, Anna, Baracka and Jody as well as many other family and friends.

The family extends their gratitude to the staff of the Riverstone Retirement homes as well as Southbridge Care Home. In memoriam donations may be directed to the Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County.
