Obituary of Kathryn Baerg

Passed peacefully at home, after a courageous battle with cancer in her 78th year.  Beloved mother of Michael (Susan) Kidder of Mississauga, and Jamie (Sarah) Kidder of Ottawa. Loving Nanny to Astrid and Ava. Cherished daughter of the late Wilfred and Margaret “Peg” Baerg. Dear sister of Roberta (Barry) Boyle, David (Carolynn), Maggie, and Stephen (Nadine). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Kathy will also be missed by numerous long-time friends.  

Kathy enjoyed expressing her love of nature through creative hobbies such as wood carving, stained glass work, and sewing.  She spent much of her working life at Nortel, where she built lasting friendships and took great pride in her work.  Kathy’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and catching up with friends.

Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Lynwood Park for the care given to Kathy over the last few months.   

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 27^th 2026, at Pinecrest Visitation Centre (2500 Baseline Rd., Ottawa) from 1-3pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to a charity of your choice, or one that reflects Kathy’s values and passions.
