It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt gratitude for a life well lived that the family of Mildred Wisdom announces her passing on July 9, 2026.

Born in St. Ann, Jamaica, Mildred later made Canada her home, where she devoted her life to God, her family, and serving others. After arriving in Ottawa, she realized there was no Church of God like the one she faithfully attended in Jamaica. With a deep love for the Lord and a desire to continue worshipping in the faith she cherished, she opened her home for worship services, helping establish the Ottawa Church of God. What began in her home grew into a church family that has impacted the lives of many over the years. Her vision, faithfulness, and dedication left a lasting spiritual legacy that continues to bless others today.

Mildred was a devoted wife to Lawiar Wisdom, a loving mother to Suzette Wisdom, and a cherished grandmother to Deshaun, Za’Nya, and Keondra. Her family was one of her greatest blessings, and she treasured every opportunity to spend time with them.

A woman of unwavering Christian faith, Mildred's relationship with God was the foundation of her life. Prayer was not simply something she did—it was part of who she was. She faithfully lifted her family, friends, and church family before the Lord, believing in the power of prayer and God's faithfulness. Anyone who sought her counsel would leave encouraged, comforted, and reminded to trust in God.

To know Mildred was to know kindness. She was known for her warm smile, generous heart, and gentle spirit. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel welcomed, valued, and loved.
Whether through a listening ear, thoughtful advice, or quiet acts of generosity, she touched countless lives with compassion and grace.

Outside of her ministry and family life, Mildred found joy in reading and expressing her creativity through crafts. She appreciated life's simple blessings and delighted in sharing them with those around her.

Her greatest desire was that others would come to know Christ and experience His love as she had throughout her life. That desire was reflected in the way she lived each day—with unwavering faith, sincere compassion, and a heart devoted to serving God and caring for others.

Although her family deeply mourns her passing, they also rejoice in the legacy she leaves behind—a legacy of unwavering faith, steadfast love, selfless generosity, and heartfelt encouragement. Her life was a beautiful testimony to God's love, and the seeds she planted in the lives of others will continue to bear fruit for generations to come. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
