Brian Mulligan

Obituary of Brian Mulligan

Sadly, and far too soon, Brian passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026, after a hard-fought and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Brian will be sorely missed by his beloved wife Valerie (Rochester), his daughter Laura, son-in-law Jerome (Mourits), and his dear grandchildren Lily and Jasper. He is survived by his brother Ron, sister Linda (Fishlock), and sister-in-law Deborah (Alexander), as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Gladys and Leonard Mulligan.

Brian was a quiet man, but one who loved getting to know people and specially making them laugh. He was known for his love of ducks and always having a joke or pun ready for any occasion.

A chartered accountant for over 50 years with over 40 of those in his own private practice, Brian worked tirelessly for his clients. In addition to his professional work, he dedicated countless hours as a volunteer for numerous nonprofit organizations, including the Youth Services Bureau, Alzheimer’s Society, Crossroads Children's Mental Health, and the Roberts Smart Centre, to name a few. He never said no to someone in need of help or support. For his remarkable community service, he was honored with the Mayor’s City Builder Award and recognized by the United Way.

A celebration of life for Brian will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Parkinson’s Canada to support the fight against Parkinson’s disease.
