Obituary of Raymond Girard

Raymond J. Girard 1933-2025

It is with great sadness that we announce that Raymond J. Girard passed away peacefully in Ottawa on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the age of 91 years.

He leaves behind his children Lynne (John), Luc (April), Paul (Bonnie), Ann (Andrew) and Caroline (Michel), his companion Julie Graham, the mother of his children Micheline Sincennes, his brothers Germain (Mona), Ghislain (late France) as well as his grandchildren Rachelle, Ryan, Pascal, Philippe, Danielle, Justin and Jonathan.

He was the son of the late Joseph Girard and Marie Girard (nee Maltais), and is predeceased by his brothers Maurice, Jean-Paul, Réal, Laurent, Marcel, and his sisters, Bertha and Cécile.     

The family would like to thank the staff at the Colonel By Residence as well as Kelly and Pascale for their kindness and supportive care.                                                                           

A celebration of Raymond’s life will be held at Cole Funeral Services at Pinecrest Cemetery, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 1 to 4 pm. 

In lieu of flowers, your expression of sympathy can be expressed by a donation in his honor to a charity or foundation of your choice.

C’est avec tristesse que nous vous annonçons le décès de Raymond J. Girard survenu le 6 février 2025 à Ottawa à l’âge de 91 ans. 

Il laisse dans le deuil ses enfants Lynne (John), Luc (April), Paul (Bonnie), Ann (Andrew) et Caroline (Michel), sa compagne Julie Graham, la mère de ses enfants Micheline Sincennes, ses frères Germain (Mona) et Ghislain (feu France) ainsi que ses petits-enfants Rachelle, Ryan, Philippe, Danielle, Pascal, Justin et Jonathan. 

Il était le fils de feu Joseph Girard et de feu Marie Girard (née Maltais) et prédécédé par ses sœurs Bertha et Cécile et ses frères Maurice, Jean-Paul, Réal, Laurent et Marcel. 

La famille tient à remercier tout le personnel de la Résidence Colonel By ainsi que Kelly et Pascale pour leur soins, soutien et bienveillance. 

Une célébration de la vie de Raymond aura lieu dimanche le 2 mars 2025 de 13h00 à 16h00 au salon funéraire Cole/Cimetière Pinecrest.
