Obituary of Savita Barran Wilke

Savita Wilke, 86 years of age, passed away peacefully on Thursday February 27, 2025, at the Queensway Carleton Hospital.

Savita was born August 8, 1938, in Guyana to the late Betty and Harry Rambarran. Savita was the beloved sister to Marina and the late Romeo and a cherished Aunty to Michael Rambarran. Savita had a large and diverse family spanning from Canada all the way to South America and they remained in contact throughout the years wherever they were.

Savita came to Canada and studied to become a Health Care Aide and worked diligently to ensure that all of her patients received the highest quality and standard of care.

Savita met the love of her life, the late Otto Wilke (2013), and they were married on June 22, 1985. They purchased a beautiful home together in Kanata where they spent many years entertaining family and friends together.  Savita took pride in her beautiful home and gardens.

Savita was determined and persevered when her beloved Otto became ill and stayed by his side until he was called home to be with the Lord. Savita was a faithful servant of the Lord and often leaned on her faith during difficult times. Savita looked forward to the day when she could be reunited with her beloved Otto.

Savita became a welcomed visitor with neighbours, attending seasonal gatherings, enjoying meals and the company.  She had a wonderful appetite and appreciation for home cooked meals and baked goods. Savita had a good sense of humour, often responding with a soft little chuckle. She loved to immerse herself in recent events, politics and the ongoing sagas of the Royal Family. She devotedly followed the ongoing Papal events and circumstances. Savita developed a lovely circle of support within her community, and she will be greatly missed by those who were welcomed into her circle. Savita was forever grateful for her supporters, Doug and his late wife Jane, her neighbours and for Bob for his regular chats and guidance.
