What these dates don't show you is what she did between those dates and that is represented by the dash. Kathleen was born in Kentville, NS moved to the family homestead close to Annapolis Royal where she graduated from high school and secretarial school. She then moved to Ottawa to start her career with Morrison-Lamothe bakeries where she ended up working for the vice president. It was at this point that we met, got married and had two children. Life took us to Edmonton where she took on the challenge of opening a junior kindergarten on the base. An opportunity then took us to Lahr Germany where she had the opportunity to become the Canadian mayor for the town of Langenwinkle where we lived. Chance took us back to Edmonton where she opted to go to the University of Alberta and studied political science as well as art history. Back to where we started, Ottawa, she became office manager and marketing director for an accounting firm. When that adventure was over, her entrepreneurial skills came to light. She decided to start her own business making chocolate truffles which we sold at the Carp Farmers Market as well as the Ottawa Farmers Market at Lansdowne Park. Never to sit still too long she then opened a food concession where she provided unique breakfast entrees and special lunches as well as our homemade Gelato. When this became too much, we closed the business and Kathleen retired to work in her garden for hours at a time to make it what it is today.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Hospice Care Ottawa would be appreciated.
