Obituary of Kathaleen (Sarah) Eaton nee Christie

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and wife, Kathy Eaton, who left us early yesterday morning.

Devoted wife to George for  68 years, their enduring love and partnership were a beacon of strength and warmth to all who knew them. Together, they built a beautiful life, filled with laughter, resilience, and unconditional love.

She was a proud and loving mother to her two daughters, Edith and Phyllis, who carry forward her strength and compassion. Her legacy lives on in her cherished grandchildren and her two great-granddaughters, all of whom were lucky enough to have her into adulthood and will have memories to comfort them through this difficult time.

Kathy lived her life unapologetically—unafraid to face the world head-on and always willing to lend a hand. Her compassion was boundless, whether volunteering with St. John Ambulance or offering kindness to a stranger in need. She was often the first to help and never asked for anything in return. As a long-time member of Bells Corners United Church, she enjoyed her time singing in the choir of which she made life long friends.

In her later years, she met the challenges of dementia with grace. Even as the disease progressed, she held onto her vibrant spirit—greeting each day with a smile and a spring in her step. Her unwavering spark and sense of self remained, reminding us all of her incredible strength.

She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. Her memory will live on in every act of kindness, every moment of courage, and every family story lovingly retold.

Rest in peace, Kathy. Your light lives on in all of us.
