Obituary of Jim Burtt

Jim passed away at Carveth Care Centre in Gananoque, ON. He was 67. Born in Ottawa, ON to parents Wanda (nee Holmes) and Gerry (predeceased 2021). Father to his son Steven (predeceased 2024). He leaves behind his beloved daughter Cindy, daughter Melissa, son Michael, his younger siblings Janice and Jeff, as well as many other cherished family members.

An avid drummer in his youth, Jim enjoyed music and photography. He built a large collection of music over the years and was a radio show host. He attended church with family and many youth retreats. He was passionate about race car driving and memorabilia. 

Jim moved west to live in Vancouver and Calgary for a number of years. He had a good career owning and driving a tow truck. He was also a dispatch operator and volunteer firefighter. He came back east to live in Smiths Falls, ON until his health declined and moved to a care residence in Gananoque. Thank you to Carveth Care Centre.  

Friends are invited to a Memorial Service at Pinecrest Remembrance Services, 2500 Baseline Road on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 1pm. Burial to Follow.
