Peacefully with his family by his side on June 5, 2025.  Beloved husband of Judy (Nee Featherstone) for almost 55 years.  Most proud and devoted father of Carrie Cregan (Chris) of Beckwith and Stefan (Patti) of Winchester. No words can describe his love for his three cherished grandchildren Hannah, Owen and Heidi. 

Herve was born and raised in Ottawa by the late Emile Backs and Mildred McNulty.  

Loving brother of Gerry (Lorraine), Joan McSorley, Kathy McSorley (Paul), Beatrice Boucher (Dave), Pat Blundon (Moe), Chris Jennings (Phil) and Helen Soubliere (Denis).  Brother-in-law of Freda Backes of London, Bruce Featherstone (Sheryl)of Chilliwack, B.C  and Gerald Featherstone of Ottawa. Predeceased by his siblings Con, Theresa, Joe, Bernie, Lena and Janet. 

Our family would like to thank first and foremost Herve, for his courage to try and fight his lung cancer.  We also thank our very supportive family and our lifelong friends Ricky, Bob, Heather and especially Nancy, Jobie and Judy’s best friend Judy.   Special thanks is also extended to Sacha and Brett. 

Please join us as we celebrate Herve’s life on Saturday, June 14^th at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #434, 67 Chesterville Queen St, Chesterville, ON.  Visitation will begin at 11am until the time Words of Remembrance will be spoken at 12noon, followed by a reception. 

Burial will occur on Monday, June 16^th at the Pinecrest Cemetery, 2500 Baseline Road at 11am.

Herve loved flowers and supported CHEO and the Chesterville Legion Branch 434 but feel free to donate to your favorite charity in his memory.
