




Obituary of Gladys Genevieve Lee (nee Kells)
June 5, 1928 – June 18, 2025
Peacefully on Wednesday evening, June 18, 2025 with family by her side in her 98th year.
Gladys was the fourth eldest child of the late Edward and Agnes (Ranger) Kells. Beloved wife of 52 years to the late Eric Lee. A devoted and cherished mother, Gladys is survived by her six children: Dan (Barb) Lee, Garry (Wilma) Lee, Tom (Cathy) Lee, Kathy (Joe) Kelly, Jerry Lee, and Jeff (Tara) Lee.
Gladys’ legacy also lives on through her 13 Grandchildren: Derek (Brittaney) Lee, Crystal Lee, Jason (Katie) Lee, Candace (Todd) Giles, Beverly (Ray) Shattler, Rob Lee (Michelle), Greg (Amy) Kelly, Pat (Rebecca) Kelly, Paul (Angie) Kelly, Trista (Rocky) Sharma, Kayla (Billy) Thibault, Ashley (Scott) Hawkins, Keira Southwell (Will) and her 21 great-grandchildren.
She will be lovingly remembered by Feryn Donaldson, Wendy Lee, Angela Lee as well as her extended family and friends.
She was predeceased by her infant son, Melville, and her grandson, Adam Lee. She was also predeceased by her 7 siblings.
Gladys had a passion for baking, delighting many with her renowned butterscotch pie, date sandwich cookies, homemade bread, and buns—treats that brought joy to countless family and community gatherings. She also had a spirited love for games, especially euchre, bid euchre, and her weekly bingos at the hall, where her incredible luck was the stuff of legend.
Gladys will be fondly remembered, with cherished stories passed down and reflected upon, bringing warmth, laughter, and love for generations to come. Her presence touched many lives, and though she is no longer with us, the memories she created will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew her.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Almonte General Hospital, the Rosamond Wing, Dr. Stewardson and Dr. Fortune for their excellent care and kindness during Gladys’ final days.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cole Funeral Services. As per Gladys’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter’s United Church in Tatlock on Monday, June 30, 2025 at 11:00am, followed by a reception at the Tatlock Community Hall. A Private Family interment at Guthrie United Cemetery, Clayton will follow the service.
Those wishing are asked to consider memorial donations in lieu of flowers to the Almonte General Hospital – Fairview Manor Foundation or the St. Peter’s United Church (Tatlock).
