Obituary of Austin Thurlow Forsythe
With broken hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the unexpected passing of Austin Forsythe, who left us far too soon at the age of 27. A beloved son, brother, friend, and soon-to-be father, Austin’s absence leaves an unfillable space in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Austin was the cherished son of John Forsythe and Karen and Leonard Thurlow, and the devoted older brother to Makenzie Forsythe, Cameron Forsythe, Noah Thurlow, and Kianna Thurlow. As the eldest sibling, Austin was a steady presence—protector, role model, and rock. His love was quiet but unwavering, and his strength anchored those closest to him.
He was a grandson to Deborah, Greg, Joan, Carol, Patti and late James, and great-grandson to the late Arthur and late Mabel Thurlow. Austin also leaves behind his Uncle Chris, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him deeply and will continue to carry his memory forward.
Austin built his life with determination and heart, pouring himself into his work as a flat roofer. He worked with pride and integrity at Flynn, A4 Roofing, Wolfenburg, RTR, and other companies—wherever he went, he gave everything he had. His work ethic was second to none, not for recognition, but to take care of the people he loved.
He was a man of deep inner strength—both physically, as a passionate bodybuilder, and emotionally, as someone who carried quiet burdens while still giving all he could. To many, he appeared invincible. And in many ways, he was.
Austin’s greatest joy was yet to come—his son, Silas, who is on the way. Though Austin never got the chance to meet his son, his legacy will live on in him. Silas will grow up surrounded by stories of his father’s courage, compassion, and loyalty, and he will know that he was deeply loved before he even arrived.
Austin shared a rare, soulful bond with his cat, Bubba—a fiercely loyal and wild companion who trusted only him. Their connection reflected the way Austin loved: deeply, quietly, and for life.
He was not only a son and a brother, but a protector, a best friend, a grandson, and a light in the lives of many. His memory will live on in the family he leaves behind, in Bubba, in Silas, and in the many lives he touched.
Austin, you were our giant. Our hero. Our constant. We miss you beyond words. Your story continues in every heart that holds you close, and your love lives on in all of us.
Rest easy now, Austin. You were deeply loved. You always will be.
