I have known Joan (Joanie) for nearly 65 years, since we were roommates at U.W.O.and graduated together from their Secretarial Science programme. Following that we travelled together to London and Heidelberg where we worked in a pen manufacturing factory for several months. Then, taking our earnings and together with friends we explored much of Europe and Morocco, sharing innumerable experiences and some hair-raising adventures we mostly kept unreported to our families back home!
Through subsequent years and though living entirely different lives, we managed to visit from time to time in Toronto, in Hawaii and in B.C. We shared ten thousand laughs and it was her intrepid spirit and that lovely smile that I will remember.
Her family was her strength and my husband and I send our most sincere coldolences to you all at her passing.
