“I share this from a place of love, compassion, and kindness for all humanity.”
Honoring Love, Grief, and Human Connection
This year, I lost my husband — my better half, my partner, my home. He taught me how to love fully, care deeply, and see the humanity in everyone. Losing him has left a space in my life that no one else can fill, and navigating life without him has been both beautiful in memory and heartbreaking in reality.
Grief is deeply personal, but it is also universal. Too often, when someone loses their spouse or partner, friends and family step back because it’s uncomfortable or they don’t know what to do. But for those of us living through that loss, the loneliness can be deafening. No one should be left completely alone in their grief.
I share this to honor my husband’s love, his teachings, and the humanity he embodied. Let us see each other. Let us show up for each other. Let us honor the love we carry in our hearts — that is what remains when everything else is gone.
"I speak now with the love my husband and my father taught me, with gratitude for everyone who shaped my life, and with the courage to honor our shared humanity — not just for me, but for anyone who grieves alone. This is my voice, and I will use it with love."

I was Bob's buddy when he was 10 in 1966 and I was a 15-year-old volunteer in Operation Achievement. We tagged around Ottawa parks, museums and sports grounds together for half-days in July and August. He's fondly remembered and I extend my sympathy to his family.

I have fond memories of my childhood and over the years with you, Uncle Rob. I wish we had more. You showed up when it mattered and I knew that if I needed you, I could reach out. I guess that's really what it's all about in the hurried hours and passing days. The world lost a good man.

I still remember the day I met you in 1999, welcoming me into the family over breakfast and a casino outing. Over the years you were nothing but kind and supportive towards myself, your son, grandkids. You were there for us in some difficult times. All my memories are nothing but good from the moments we shared as a family. You were always the upbeat and positive one. Even when you were dealing with your own medical issues and had every reason not to be. I remember you as always uplifting others. My children have very fond memories of you and Pascale. Thanks for being such an amazing grandfather to them.
I always admired how you treated Rick like he was your own. In the last few years we lost all touch. I regret letting time pass us by. We were recently wanting to reach out and check in on you. Grandkids were asking about you often. Especially Zachary. Please know that all those good moments with you will forever be cherished. You may be gone now.. but you will be remembered today, tomorrow, always.
Rest easy ❤️

Since we last spoke in 2018 when I tried to reconcile and mediate family differences, I've been hoping, wanting, and waiting to reconnect with you. The five of us spoke about you often and missed both you and Pascale a lot. I thought for sure we would reconnect soon.
You were there for me growing up, helped me a lot and treated me like your own Son, all while I was clouded trying to find a relationship with my biological Father, all along my Dad was right there.
Thankfully I have many fond memories and mementos i will always cherish.

My Dearest Brother Rob,
I will miss our conversations about the Beatles and Politics, it was always so refreshing to be able to speak to you openly as you were truly open minded towards other peoples beliefs. I will greatly miss out chats and our hang outs (the four of us). You always sent me some pretty descent jokes which I will miss receiving. It won't be the same without you. All this to say I miss you and you will be forever in my thoughts and prayers.

My dearest Brother in law,
I miss you! I will miss our conversations as they were so deep and real... It's hard to find that these days, as everything is so superficial... I will miss our outings and I will keep you with me while I go to the casino, as it will feel weird not chatting with you afterwards when I win or lose. I want to tell you that you will be truly missed and I could not of asked for a better brother-in-law. You have been a wonderful husband to my sister and a wonderful friend to me and my husband. You will be truly missed.
