Obituary of Aurel Vuia

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Aurel Julian Vuia, who died peacefully at the General Hospital in Ottawa on June 22, 2025.

Born in Munich on March 24, 1950, Aurel was the beloved son of the late Dr. Rommel Vuia and Mrs. Emilie Vuia. The family immigrated to Canada in the early 1950s, settling first in Roxboro and Laval-sur-le-Lac, Quebec.

Aurel attended Lake of Two Mountains High School and went on to study at Sir George Williams University (now Concordia University), where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Following his graduation, he began his professional career with the Royal Bank of Canada in Montreal and Toronto.

In the late 1970s, Aurel moved to Ottawa, where he found his true calling in real estate. He worked for many years with Royal LePage and later with RE/MAX, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike for his dedication, professionalism, and warmth.

Aurel will be remembered as a loyal friend, a man of integrity, and someone who cherished the relationships he built over the years.

A Celebration of Aurel’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Cole Funeral Services, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa. Please join his friends, Frank Pitman, Michael Carbonneau, Karl Marszowski and Scott Eaton, along with many others who knew him well.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the management and staff at Stirling Park Residence for their kindness and care.
