Obituary of Viola Clara Silverthorn (nee Mohns)

We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Viola (Vi) Silverthorn, age 92, of Ottawa, Ontario on September 25, 2025. She was born on April 16, 1933, in Petawawa, Ontario.

Loving mother of Stephen Silverthorn (Diana) Lakefield, Ontario; Jeffrey Silverthorn (Karen), Ottawa, Ontario; Roger Silverthorn (Mary), Orillia, Ontario. Proud grandmother of Daniel, David, Nicole, Lauren, Cole, and Grace. Daughter of the late Edward and Clara Mohns (nee Reckzin). Sister of Edwin Mohns (Rae), Petawawa, Ontario. Predeceased by her brother Wallace Mohns (late Betty). Viola will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews and friends.

She will be placed to rest in Ottawa, Ontario, at Pinecrest Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Ottawa Cancer Foundation, or the University of Ottawa Heart Institute would be greatly appreciated.
