Obituary of Angelo Kardaras

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Angelo Kardaras, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love and strength shaped the lives of all who knew him.

Born in Arkadia, Greece in 1937, Angelo immigrated to Canada in 1956, first settling in Ottawa before moving to Toronto and eventually returning to Ottawa, where he made his home. He worked in a number of restaurants throughout Ottawa and Toronto, and later co-owned Angelo’s Restaurant in Smiths Falls with his brother Nick. Through his hard work and dedication, Angelo built a respected reputation in the hospitality community and formed lasting friendships along the way.

Angelo was the beloved husband of Sarantia (Toula), proud father of Anna (Corrado) and Tommy, and a loving grandfather to Saverio, Angelo (Alyssa), Stephano (Brianne), Tia, and Eva.

He passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, at the age of 87.

He is predeceased by his parents Thanasi and Ioanna Kardaras, and his brother Nick. Survived by his sister Marina and brothers Costa and John, Angelo’s presence will also be deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Angelo was quiet but strong — a man whose actions spoke louder than words. His work ethic, humility, and devotion to his family were unwavering. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren, celebrating every milestone and cherishing every moment together.

His legacy of love, perseverance, and integrity will live on in all who were blessed to know him.
