Obituary of Rodney Reddick
Rodney passed away peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital on October 29, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 80. He leaves to mourn his wife, Sheryle (née Cullen), his daughter Laurel Lee (Chris), son Ronald (Lina), and stepson Carter Cullen (Cynthia). Rodney was a proud and much loved Grandpa to Tyler, Oliver, Danny, Ian and Rachel. He is survived by his brother Frederick (Paula), sister Ronna, and was predeceased by his parents, Ronald and Mary Reddick, and brothers Malcolm (Pauline), Milton (Sheila), Melville (Mary), and Warren (Shirley). Rodney will be fondly remembered by the Cullen family, his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Rodney grew up on a small family farm in the Chateauguay Valley south of Montreal. He moved to the Ottawa area in his early twenties to pursue his passion as a mechanic. Rodney is well respected in Eastern Ontario's heavy duty equipment industry having served the industry for over 40 years as a service supervisor, service manager and sales representative at Blackwood Hodge Equipment Limited, Tarion Equipment Ltd, CTI Equipment, Federal Equipment, and Equipment Sales and Service Limited specializing in Komatsu equipment.
When Rodney did not have wrenches in his hands, he enjoyed moose hunting and curling. He was a member of the Governor Generals Curling Club, Past President of the Canadian Branch of the Royal Caledonian Curling Club (1990-91), and dedicated member of the Richmond Curling Club having served as its President (1989-90), and director of Ice and Facilities for many years.
A memorial service will take place in the chapel at the Coles Funeral Services and Highland Park Cemetery, 2037 McGee Side Road, Carp, Ontario, K0A 1L0, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow the service. Internment to occur at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
