Obituary of Luis Tejada

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Luis Tejada, who left this world peacefully on November 3, 2025, in Ottawa, Canada, at the age of 93.

Born on November 15, 1931, in Salcedo, Dominican Republic, Luis lived a simple life marked by humility, love, and faith. In 1990, he made Canada his home, where he continued to share his warmth, kindness, and unwavering generosity with all who knew him.

Luis was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Abelarda (“Lala”) Tejada, the love of his life. Together they shared a deep and beautiful bond—inseparable, like two peas in a pod. He always cared for her tenderly, never failing to bring her flowers and make her smile.

He is lovingly remembered by his children Miledis (Silfredo), Jani (Giovanni), Deisi (Luis), Sandra (Pablo), and Mildred (Emir); his 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry his legacy of love and faith in their hearts.

Luis was a good man—honorable, humble, hardworking, and kind. He lived his life in service to others, always ready to lend a helping hand. A devout Catholic, his faith guided him through every season of his life. Above all, he loved his family fiercely and unconditionally.

Luis will be remembered for his generosity, his laughter, and the love he poured into everyone around him. His family and friends take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his dear Lala, his life companion.

May he rest in eternal peace!

Friends and family are invited to the following services. Visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa. Funeral Service 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025 in the Pinecrest Remembrance Chapel. Interment will follow.

Con profundo pesar, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Luis Tejada, quien partió en paz el 3 de noviembre de 2025, en Ottawa, Canadá, a la edad de 93 años.

Nacido el 15 de noviembre de 1931 en Salcedo, República Dominicana, Luis vivió una vida simple, marcada por la humildad, el amor y la fe. Desde 1990 hizo de Canadá su hogar, donde continuó compartiendo su calidez, bondad y generosidad con todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo.

Luis fue precedido en la muerte por su amada esposa durante 60 años, Abelarda (“Lala”) Tejada, el amor de su vida. Juntos compartieron un lazo profundo y hermoso, inseparables, como dos gotas de agua. Siempre la cuidó con ternura, nunca dejaba de llevarle flores y de hacerla sonreír.

Le sobreviven con amor sus hijos Miledis (Silfredo), Jani (Giovanni), Deisi (Luis), Sandra (Pablo) y Mildred (Emir); así como sus 11 nietos, 20 bisnietos y 4 tataranietos, quienes conservarán para siempre su legado de amor y fe en sus corazones.

Luis fue un hombre bueno: honorable, humilde, trabajador y bondadoso. Vivió su vida al servicio de los demás, siempre dispuesto a tender una mano amiga. Como devoto católico, su fe fue su guía a lo largo de toda su vida. Sobre todo, amó a su familia con fuerza y sin condiciones.

Luis será recordado por su generosidad, su alegría y el amor que brindó a todos los que lo rodearon. Su familia y amigos encuentran consuelo al saber que ahora está reunido con su querida Lala, su compañera de vida.
