Obituary of Janka McKenna

It is with heavy hearts and eternal love that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Janka (Jennie) McKenna, on October 28th, 2025, with family by her side, at the age of 94.

Dear wife of the late Ken McKenna for over 64 years.  Loving mother of Patricia, Ken (Joann), Christine (Bob) and Kathy.  Proud Grandmother of; Kara, Heather, Ryan, Jennifer, Aron and Jasmine and Brigite.  Great-Grandmother of: Ava &Jack; Matthew & Grace; Anika, Joshua & Noah; Mabon & Marlo; Rosie, Elise & Peter; Olivia & Owen.  

Predeceased by her son Neil, grandaughter Shelly, grandson Mark and her son-in-law Denis.

Born in South Porcupine, Ontario, Jennie moved to Ottawa over 70 years ago, where she carried herself with grace, warmth, and a quiet resilience that her family will never forget. After raising their family, she and Ken shared many happy years travelling the world and spending many winters in Florida.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Valley Stream Retirement Home for their kind, loving and compassionate care.

A private family service will be held at a later date. In memory of Jennie, donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
