Obituary of Harold Edward Brown
Harold “Ted” Edward Brown passed away peacefully at the Perley & Rideau Veteran's Health Centre on August 17, 2021 in his 89th year.
Son of the late Harold Brown and late Dorothy (Findley). Beloved husband of over 65 years to Eva Anne (nee Cathcart). Father to Terry and Sherry (Bob) Bennett. Grandfather of Meghan (late Scott), Erin (Mark), Kelly (Mcee), Mike (Ashley) and Jamie (Alicia). Great Grandfather to Hanna, Madison and Annora. Brother to Gordon (Wanda) and late Pat.
As the son of the founder, Ted spent most of his working life as a Baker at Richmond Bakery. When the business was sold, Ted took on a role on Parliament Hill as a baker and then a much-loved bus driver.
Ted was very active physically throughout his life from his Vic Tanny’s membership to his time on the tennis courts and the ski hill, his travels on his motorcycle and then his devotion to golf with his favourite playing partner, Eva. He also loved nature and had a passion for fishing, birds and dogs.
Ted’s creative side came to light when he discovered his love to paint. Although he expressed himself through many mediums, his true success came from watercolours as his work currently hangs in many homes.
Eva and the family would like to recognize and thank the staff of Gatineau 1 North at The Perley and Rideau Veteran's Health Centre. They treated Ted with great care, respect and empathy and their professionalism was exemplary.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to The Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County.
