Obituary of Stephen Eng

Peacefully at the age of 62, on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, after a short but hard fought battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Jacqueline for 32 years.  Cherished Father to Matthew and Tyler. Dear son of Yin Nei and Cheuk Don. He will be missed by his siblings Bill and Tina and of course, his dog Bear.

Born in London, he attended Western University and later the University of Toronto graduating with both a Bachelors of Chemistry and a Bachelors of Finance. Stephen moved to Ottawa to serve 30 years at the federal government.

An enjoyer of many things, Steve loved the finer things in life; wine, cigars, stereos, cameras and most of all; his friends and family. He was a tireless provider, cherished companion and selfless spirit who lives on within the many hearts he touched.

He will be missed but remembered for his generosity, loyalty, BBQ prowess and quotable one liners.

Steve was a devoted father who loved his family and dedicated to his work. He will be remembered for his laugh, practicality, humor, good nature, thoughtfulness and helpfulness. He will be dearly missed by his family, many cousins, nieces and nephews, friends, neighbours, work family and his dog Bear.

Family & Friends are invited to visit at Cole Funeral Services & Pinecrest Remembrance, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2340 Baseline Road, Ottawa.

A Private Family Internment will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery.
