Obituary of Sibby Fennema

Passed away peacefully on Friday, September 3, 2021 in her 93rd year.  Loving wife to Peter (2015) for 63 years.  Peter and Sibby immigrated to Canada from the Netherlands in 1952 to start a new legacy. Their journey included three children, Sylvia (Don), Floyd (Debbie), and Michael; and her much loved grandchildren Brent and Mark; Brianne and Kurt; and Josh and Kyle, as well as two great grandchildren Lauren and Erik.  In addition, she leaves behind an extended family in the Netherlands that although were separated by distance were never forgotten from her life.

Sibby was a devoted wife and mother who was full of spirit and energy in dealing with the cherished experiences in her life. Her fondest memories were travelling the world with her family.  In particular the experience of living in Germany for 4 years during the family's formative period was a highlight.  She was also an Organist and Choir member at Presbyterian Churches in Stittsville and more recently in Ottawa.In her youth Sibby attended a Dress Making and Design Academy and was also an avid knitter, gardener, and crossword enthusiast.
