Obituary of Diane Marie Moyer (nee Smith)

Passed away peacefully at Queensway Carleton Hospital with family by her side. She was predeceased by her parents Glenn and Hazel Smith of Madison Wisconsin, brothers Bud, Bill, Bob, Don and sister Ruth. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Roger Moyer, children Karen McKendry and Jeff Moyer and her brother Jack. She will be greatly missed by all of her family including son-in-law David McKendry, daughter-in-law Susan Moyer; grandchildren Chelsea Chandler (Gordon), Matthew McKendry (Becca), Alexandra Liko (Nick), Lane Cho (Chris), Isla Moyer, Clint Drader and Tara Drader, great grandchildren Johnathan, Benjamin, and Samuel Chandler, and Teddy Liko; along with many other extended family members and many friends.

Diane was born and raised in Madison Wisconsin and lived a life of service to others. She taught music (voice) at several post secondary institutions and was an active member in her church community. Along with Roger, she co-founded Christian Counselling Ottawa in 1978 which has helped to heal the hearts and homes of hundreds of grateful people. A gifted songstress and a woman of great Christian faith, she will be remembered fondly.

 

An informal celebration of Diane’s life will be held at Cedarview Alliance Church 2784 Cedarview Rd, Ottawa September 16 2021 between 2:00 and 4:00 pm with brief remarks at 2:30. Best wishes only. A private interment will be held at a later date at Pinecrest cemetery, Ottawa.
