Obituary of Anne Marie McCallum
Anne died peacefully, but suddenly, at the age of 73.
Beloved wife of nearly 43 years to Russ McCallum. Loving mother of Robyn and Andrew. Fond mother-in-law of Renée. Proud grandmother of Katherine and Thomas.
Born in Fredericton, she regularly returned to New Brunswick to visit family and friends. There she is survived by her brother Paul Rideout, her niece Lisa Paul, her aunt Gladys Kelly-Furzer, her beloved first-cousin once removed Marg Gorman, her lifelong friend Mary Porter, and many other dear friends and family members.
She is also survived by relatives and friends in Ottawa and across Canada, including her nephews Josh Rideout and Dakota Martin; Ross and Sheila England; Jack and Shirley Martin; and Harvey Zwicker.
She was predeceased by her father Eugene Rideout, her mother Dorothy Eileen (née Tompkins), and her nephew Anthony Rideout.
Anne’s twin passions were her family and her faith. Throughout her life she cared for many aging family members. An avid genealogist, she collected their stories and shared the family lore. An active member of St Maurice Parish for over forty years, Anne was a Lay Associate of the Companions of the Cross, a Spiritual Mother of Priests, and a member of the CWL.
Thanks to the staff at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital for their excellent care and compassion.
