Obituary of Peter Chiu

Suddenly, with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Peter on October 24, 2021. He was surrounded by his family at home. He was predeceased by his parents, Man On 'Willie' Chiu (father) and Norma 'Omy' Manalo Chiu (mother). Beloved & caring brother of Marinilla 'Evelyn' (Danny), Noli, Nilo, Wilma 'Moy', Josephine 'Joie' and Olivia 'Ivy' (Bechie). Loving Uncle of Darrell (May), Cyra (Sonny), Erin (Jansen), Christine, Katrina, Camille, William Cyrian, Kennedy, Marlo Louis, Christian and Meryl Kristine (Mike). Cherished great-Uncle of Layla Yim, Madalayna 'Mady', Mayson William, Ynara and Marlow Matilde.

Peter was an intelligent economist and very reserved but was the type of person who loved working with the public. He was so fashionistic that he worked most of his life in clothing & fashion industries. He was strong-willed and hardworking, and could do anything he set his mind to. 

He travelled independently in his life, exploring and making friends. Known for being quietly passionate and extravagantly very generous with what he had to share to anyone. He was known as the life of the party for those who knew him well.

Peter will be truly missed a lot by relatives and friends globally who loved him for his thoughtfulness & caring gestures. He left us at far too young of age but still left behind an impressive legacy.

Relatives and friends may pay respect at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa, on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 9:00am to 12:00pm followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 12:00pm. COVID protocols will be in effect, with limited number of attendees, use of masks, proof of 2 completed vaccination and physical distancing as required. Private Interment at Pinecrest Cemetery.
