Obituary of Mary Davis

On Thursday, January 6, 2022, our dear Mom, Mary Chrystal Davis (Forgie), in her 94^th year, passed away peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, Ottawa.   She was the beloved wife of the late Matthew Gordon Davis (2001).  Loving mother of Linda (Robert), Gordie, Carole (John) and Marlene (Mike).   Adoring Grandmother to Erica (Tyler), Lisa, Ashley (Owen), Amanda and Great-Grandmother to Aubrey.  Mom was born in the Falls (she used to say with a smile), Niagara Falls, Ontario and was the only child of William and Hannah (Knox) Forgie.  She enjoyed her childhood growing up in Fort Erie and later Toronto, where she met our Dad at the Palais Royale dance hall.  Four children later they relocated to Ottawa and raised their family.  Mom spent her last 3 years residing at Viva Retirement Residence, Barrhaven and enjoyed lots of family visits and outings.  Special thanks to the caring staff of D4 at the Queensway Carleton hospital during Mom’s final days.  For those who wish memorial donations may be made to the local Humane Society of your choice.   A private family funeral will be held for Mom in the Spring.
