Mario Anze

Obituary of Mario Anze

Mario Anze, long-time resident of Carleton Place, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2022 in Ottawa at the age of 84.

Mario is survived by his wife Mery of 62 years; his children Esther (Miguel), Sarah (Carl), Jackie, Mario, Robert (Lori) and Michael (Laurie); Grandchildren Natalie (John), Sandra (Brad), Alex (Warren), Michael and Pablo; Great-grandchildren Bear and Henry.

Mario was a cherished member of several English and Spanish congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Canada and Bolivia until his death. He was highly regarded and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Originally from La Paz, Bolivia, Mario moved to Canada in 1967. While he worked at the Carleton University printery for many years until his retirement, the main focus of his life was teaching his family and others about their Creator and the Bible.

Mario’s strong faith, loyalty and love for others was easily seen. His sense of humour, love of languages and music delighted many. His many amusing phrases and sayings were a hallmark of his conversation.

As brother, hermano, abuelito, Dad and "Tesoro", Mario will truly be missed. But he was confident in Jehovah God’s promise for perfect life in a paradise earth.

The family extends sincere thanks to all the medical professionals that attended to Mario, especially Dr. Roger Drake for his kind care to the family for some 35 years. In addition, much gratitude to the Carleton Place Hospital & District Memorial, and the Montfort Hospital for all their kind attention and support in the family’s recent time of need.

Thank you for the love and support from the many wonderful, caring friends from all over the world.

In lieu of flowers, the Anze family has requested donations can be made to the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society. Please visit donate.jw.org to donate online.
