It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Gerald Thomas LeMay on Sunday May 8th, 2022, at the age of 84 years. Gerald peacefully passed away at the Ottawa Civic Hospital after a battle with dementia. Gerald was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Helen LeMay (LeBreton). He will be lovingly remembered by his children Michael LeMay (Pam), and Michele LeMay (Rose). He will be dearly missed by his grandchild, Alexandra LeMay (Ryan), and his great grandchild Evelyn Jarratt, along with all of his family and friends. Gerald was born in 1937 in Sudbury, On. He joined the navy as a young man where he would end up meeting the love of his life, Helen. After his service in the Navy, Gerald travelled the world working for External Affairs Canada. Gerry and Helen lived a life full of love, happiness, and travel. After Gerry retired at the age of 55, he and his wife spent a lot of time with family and enjoying their beautiful garden. Gerald was smart, funny, and creative. He was an avid woodworker and musician and could fix anything. He will be dearly missed by everyone who he has ever known. We love you Dad, Papa, Great Papa, Gerry (aka Bud).
A dual celebration of life for Gerry and Helen will be held on Sunday July 10th at 11:00am at the Brookstreet Hotel, 525 Legget Dr, Kanata ON, in the “Shakers Room.” Refreshments will be available.
