I've known Alice for over ten years and seeing her was a bright spot for me each week. She was cheerful and kind, and she loved to talk about her family. They were her world. Her family gave her a Sens jersey with the number 18 embroidered on the back a few years ago because she was the youngest sibing in a family of 18 children and she was very proud of that, and she loved to watch the Sens play hockey :) She experienced a lot in her life and she was one of the strongest women I've ever met. I'll miss you, Alice xo

Dear Kellie and Jim,
Aunt Millie let me know that your Mum had passed away. I only met her several times and found her to be a lovely person. I understand that she has not been well and the last number of years have been very difficult for her and so also for you. She is at peace now.
My prayers and thoughts go out to you and your families,
Maureen Buchanan
(widow of your cousin Gordon Buchanan)

Kellie, Dean, Jim and families- Oh, how we have such wonderful memories of your mom. Many years ago in Glen Cairn, we were all one big happy "hockey family." Although we didn't keep in touch very much over the years, we will miss her wonderful smile and laugh. Always happy! We send our deepest sympathies and love to you-all..
With love, Paul and Jay Cohan, Mary Cohan-Pekarchuk

Alice and I were close in age and we did everything together growing up. We went to many dances as teenagers. When she moved from Nova Scotia to Ottawa I was very lonesome without her. I will always miss the laughs we had together.
Love you Alice, your sister Anna.

My sister Alice was a very loving, caring, generous person who enjoyed seeing quilts and newborn baby hats which she donated to hospitals and the Catholic church.
Alice has been sick for many years but she never complained. We had daily phone visits where we would laugh and reminisce about our childhood. Her last words before hanging up the phone was always I love you. I know she is at peace in heaven with all the loved ones who went before her. I will always love you Alice.
Love your sister Millie.

I am sending my condolences to Alice's family. She was such a sweet and kind woman. I had the pleasure of speaking to her on many occasions when she would call to talk to my sister. She was truly a ray of sunshine. She will be sadly missed. Sincerely, Tiffany Kirkwood
