Obituary of Patricia Kanellakos

Passed away peacefully on June 14, 2022, at Carleton Lodge at the age of 95 years. Pre-deceased by loving husband George. Stepmother of Elsia (Lance) and Niki (Gary). Grandmother of Jesse, Shane (Emma), Sara, George and Nick. Loving sister of Aemnistos (Athina) and Menis (Voula). Pre-deceased by sister Katerina (George) and brothers Yiannakis (Martha) and Niko (Panagiota).

Patricia was born in Krokees, Greece and emigrated to the United States in her twenties. Her marriage to George brought her to Ottawa where she enjoyed many years of involvement with the Greek community. During all these years, Patricia kept close ties with her family in Chicago, Illinois. 

Throughout her life, Patricia had a natural ability to work with her hands, and those golden hands were never idle. Patricia had a successful career in the garment industry, and she took great pride in keeping a wonderful home. She is deeply missed by those who knew her and loved her. 

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church (1315 Prince of Wales Drive). Funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. followed by interment at Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church are welcome. In the donation note, please indicate “In memory of Patricia (Pitsa) Kanellakos.”
