I have just recently learned of Gord's passing; and I am saddened. Throughout grade school and high school in Deep River (Keys and Mackenzie), I knew Gord as a classmate and neighbour. (We lived on Tweedsmuir Place and he and his family lived on Laurier at the foot of Tweedsmuir.) I remember Gord as quiet and soft-spoken, always respectful and considerate, and as very academic and intelligent. He and I were for many years arch-competitors for top grades in our school classes! In later life, we became neighbours again -- Gord having moved into his father's home on Laurier to care for him, and my wife and I having moved back to my childhood home on Tweedsmuir Place after my own father's death in 2005. I extend my condolences and sympathy to Gord's siblings and surviving family.

Gord was a very good friend -playing cards many a night through high school. We kept in touch and visited when we lived in Edmonton and Vancouver Island. Gord was best man at our wedding.

I am deeply saddened by the sudden death of my cousin, Gordon. I always took for granted that I would see him at the next family event. I have fond memories of speaking with him at previous gathering, and enjoying his gentle sense of humour. Also, from childhood, memories of happy Thanksgivings at Deep River to which he contributed in no small measure. My heart goes out to my cousins, his brothers and sisters in law, and his nephews and nieces, I am so sorry for your loss. May you draw strength from one another. Fondly, Mary Talbot

So sorry Peter, Marlene, and the Cross family. Our condolences to you all.
We were all sad to hear about his unexpected passing.
Gord was such a nice man! Not an uncle to my children, and yet they called him Bubba. I think he liked it too.
My favourite memory of Gord was at Kapikita Lake. Gord running from the sauna to jump into the lake with the boys on a cold damp evening.
He was so happy that day.
Take care, and let us know if you need anything.
