Obituary of Sharie Saunders

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our mother and cherished wife, Sharon Josephine Saunders. Sharie is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 52 years, Bill.  She was mother to Rob (Erin) and Laura, and grandmother to Avery, Emma-Jeanne, and Leonard and loving sister to Marjorie (Aldo). We are grateful to have created so many vivid memories as a family. We hope that these memories continue to bring us all comfort for years to come. 

Sharie grew up in Ottawa with her parents Arthur and Angie Marshall and her sister Marjorie. She has lived, worked, and raised her family in Ottawa and was happy to call this community home. She dedicated 32 years at Gowlings where she forged many lifelong friendships. Sharie has left her mark on those she's left behind and will be greatly missed. 

Sharie will be remembered as a lifelong learner, a hard-working career woman and caring mom. She had a sharp wit and a keen intellect. She enjoyed traveling all over the world with Bill, having gone on many grand adventures together. She was equally contented to be home reading, enjoying a variety of crafts, doing puzzles, and watching game shows.

Keeping with Covid concerns, a gathering will be held to celebrate Sharie's life. Visitation will be held at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre 2500 Baseline Road on Friday, August 5 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. in the Pinecrest Chapel. Masks are mandatory. A Private family inurnment will follow.
