Obituary of Wilfried Schopf

Wilfried passed away peacefully and will be dearly missed by Maria, his wife of 62 years, and by his children Michael, Bert, Peter (Nicky Trudel) and Linda (Scott McDonald). He is also survived by his beloved grandchild Tara Mills.

Born in Duesseldorf, Germany, Wilfried grew up in Mettmann where his parents ran the restaurant at the train station. This began him on his lifelong career as a chef, gaining respect from colleagues and clients alike at many venues including Ruby Foo’s (Montreal), External Affairs, the National Arts Centre and the Supreme Court of Canada.

Wilfried was a quiet family man who worked diligently for the well-being and comfort of his family. He enjoyed his home and the company of many friends and neighbours in Stittsville.

A celebration of life will be held at Pinecrest Visitation Centre, 2500 Baseline Road on Wednesday, August 31. Visitation 1 pm; Service 2 pm; Reception to follow.
