Obituary of Jessie Sharples

Jessie was born in Norley, Cheshire, U.K. She was predeceased by her husband Harold, her parents George and Amy Whelan and her sisters Moira and Kathleen.

She was a  survivor of World War II and the bombing of Britain. Jessie followed her husband to Canada with her daughter Kathryn, to live in Toronto. Moving to Ottawa, Jessie worked at Drug Trading Co. as a Narcotics Technician.

Mum was our “ Auntie Mame”, loved life, socializing and the occasional “Gin and It”. She was a fighter for women’s rights to the end.

Jessie leaves behind her daughter Kathryn (Rick), grandkids Gillian and Daniel and her sweet great grandkids Lauren and Keenan.

We will miss her sweetness, her fashion style and kindness. Thank you to Beacon Heights Retirement Home for their compassion and care.

Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to any animal rescue organization would be welcome.
