Obituary of Ronald Hannah

Hannah, Ronald Norman

October 13, 1934 - November 14, 2022

Embraced by his loving family, Ronald passed away at Mont Fort Hospital in Ottawa on November 14.  He joyfully celebrated his 88th birthday recently surrounded by many family members at home. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Catherine (Kay), daughter Laurie Hannah, grandchildren, Hannah & Isaiah Farrow, son Darren Hannah, wife Melinda, and grandchild, Charles Hannah, and many nephews and nieces.  Ron worked for International Sheet Metal Workers Local 47 for almost 50 years helping to build many of the Ottawa cityscapes such as the National Art Galleries.  His skill and strength as a metal worker were incredible and he was admired by everyone he worked with.  After he retired as a sheet metal worker he enjoyed working as a part-time maintenance manager at The Horizon a.k.a. Horizon House where they happily lived for almost 30 years.  Ron's happy nature will be greatly missed by all, he could always put a smile on everyone's face that met him and loved to brag about his children and family.  Ron was full of funny sayings such as 'I got a good memory, it's just short' and constantly telling his wife how beautiful she was and how he loved her more every day.  He was so grateful for his family and friends and wishes them all comfortable at this time as he shared with his family that he was ready to begin his next journey.

Celebration of Life service is at 11:00 am with a reception to follow on Friday, November 25th at the Church of St. John the Evangelist, Elgin and Somerset Street.  Memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Canada in lieu of flowers.
