Obituary of Philip Leyden Cairns
Philip Leyden Cairns passed away peacefully at home on November 26, 2022. Beloved husband of Louella Cairns (Gabutero). Father of Deborah (Carlos Arranz) and grandfather of Christopher and Anna Arranz. The youngest of a family of twelve, Philip is survived by brothers Gilbert and Andrew and sisters Anne and Margaret.
He will be missed by Louella’s family: Nanay, Toto, Bambi, Chen, Anwyl and Yuri (Gabutero Family), Emma,Rochella, Randolph, Ron Medwin, Rachel, Rhinna, Hugo, Savannah, Trevor (Rara Family),Marita and Edward Juanillo.
Philip moved to Ottawa in his late teens from his native Scotland. He spent several years working at E.B. Eddy before returning to school and pursuing a career in information technology where he worked for several years before retiring from the Canada Border Services Agency.
In his spare time, Philip enjoyed The Beatles, golf, snooker, time with friends and driving his 1971 TR6.
His funeral will be held on Friday, December 9, 10:00am at Pinecrest Cemetery, Cremation Centre & Mausoleum: 2500 Baseline Road,Ottawa, Ontario K2C 3H9
